VLGothic-20060921を公開しました。変更点は README にも書いてありますが、M+ 部分の更新と一部グリフの修正です。まだまだおかしな文字はおおいですが、Vine Linux 4.0 がでたあとにまた手をいれようと思います。
VLゴシックがDebian に入ったそうです。FCにも入れようとしている方がいたり、他のところでも使われようとしていたりするようです。
やることが多すぎてフォントはしばらく更新が少しになってしまっていますが、ヒマができたらまた続きをやる予定です。半年くらい時間(とお金)がもらえたら全文字手で書き直せそうな気もしますが、それが困難きわまりないという話ですね。(まあそうなったらもっと高機能なフォントエディタ)を使いたいけど。。) もっとも(ファンドでもされない限り)半年間専念できるなんてほぼありえないないですし...万が一そんなことになったら、一生延々と直しつづけるハメになりそうです。
VLGothicをFC5で使わせていただいています。<br>ところで、ひらがなが全体に上下にばらついて見えませんか？<br>バランスの問題なんでしょうが、少々気になります。
VLGothic-20060921 の VLPGothic を Vine Linux 上で確認してみましたが、気になるような上下のばらつきは感じません。もっともひらがなはM+1Cそのものなのでなにも手をいないのですが。<br><br>fontconfigの設定(hintingなど)の問題ではないでしょうか？<br>ばらついているのがわかる screenshot かなにかはありませんか？<br><br># 漢字が上下左右にばらついているのは(元のさざなみ由来の問題もありますが)認識しています。

不躾な発言にコメントを頂きまして、ありがとうございます。<br><br>早速ですが、VMWare playerで取り込んでみました。<br>http://mbx.s33.xrea.com/vlgothic_rect.png<br>FC5上のfirefox1.5.0.7で表示した例（文字サイズ16pt）です。<br>例えば四角い枠で囲んだところなど、私は少々ばらつきを感じるのですが、如何でしょう？<br>KDEのコントロールパネルなどでも同様の表示となります。<br><br>アドバイスなど頂けたら幸いです。

hinting の問題のように見えます。確認はしていませんが fontconfig の設定で hinting と autohint が on になっていませんか？FC5 の freetype は 2.1.10 だとおもいますが、CJK における autohinting がかなりくさっているので上下左右にばたつきサイズもバラバラになってしまいます。hinting と autohint を off にすると改善されると思います。もしくは freetype-2.2 以降にすると良くなるようですが、完全ではないです。<br>Vine ではデフォルトでCJKはhinting/autohint がOFFになっています。また autohint を改善するパッチもはいっているので有効にしてもここまではひどくなりません。
もしよろしければ、こちらのものを使用してみてください。<br>VLGothic、VLPGothicをそれぞれMono、Sansに割り当て、hitingも無効化するというパッケージです。<br>http://homepage2.nifty.com/shibatama/garage/<br>近い内に、Fedora Extrasに取り込む予定でしたが、テストを引き受けてくれる人がいなくて困っていた所です。
